Retire, relax and explore Cornwall.

Retire, relax and explore Cornwall.

You have worked incredibly hard all your life and have now reached the point where you can take it easy – the children have grown up and you’ve become an empty nester. It’s a wonderful time, thinking about and planning all the things you have always wanted to do but never quite had the time, gardening, DIY, hobbies, spending time together or perhaps some time away – a holiday.

At Cornish Holiday we understand how fantastic this time can be but also recognise that the sudden change of routine, (not having to be in work by 8am and heading home at 5pm), can feel very strange and take some adjusting to, no matter how well planned.

Our suggestion would be to take your time, there is no rush and ease your way into retirement. Keep yourself active and exercise your mind planning how you would like to spend your days and take advantage of your extra time.

A Cornish Holiday can be a real tonic, time to talk, to explore, to relax, unwind and plan the road ahead. Now your time is your own you can visit whenever you like, avoid the crowds, visit in the autumn or the spring, wonder at all the different colours on the trees, the sea crashing on the rocks, perhaps enjoy a Hot Chocolate and a piece of cake in a small café on the harbour side while the boats bob on the glistening sea. There are so many choices and things to do at any time of year we are certain you will have a fabulous time.

Walking along the cliff tops on the South West Coast Path is a wonderfully fulfilling experience.  The scenery is absolutely stunning and it’s a great way to connect with nature and let all the worries and stresses of the day just disappear.  You can walk directly to the cliff top and onto the South West Coast Path from our holiday home ‘Bodannon’ at Porthtowan.

The National Trust have a wealth of properties and land to explore in Cornwall, including Grand Mansions, Tin Mines from the industrial past, Headlands and Rugged Cliffs, so there is certainly something for everyone.  As our holiday accommodation is located in different areas in Cornwall you will be able to explore, experience and fall in love with the fascinating properties and land owned by The National Trust.  Just a few examples are Lanhydrock House and Gardens which are very near to our Hengar Manor Holiday Park properties, Carnewas at Bedruthan and Trerice Manor House are very near to Meadow Rise and Levant and East Pool Mines are close to Bodannon at Porthtowan. The added bonus is that if you are National Trust members you get in for free, enjoy your time exploring and please do let us know how you get on, perhaps even send some pictures.
